About the Bass by Australis
-
The Bass is a great kayak for people new to white
water paddling.
The wide hull gives it exceptional stability, whilst the inclusion of rocker
makes it very responsive when quick turning is required. -
The Bass can be purchased with or without a 3
litre fully self contained storage pod, or upgraded with the pod at a later
date. -
The Bass can be purchased by hire operators with a
"fixed-notch" footrest. -
A "heavy duty" version of the Bass is available to
hire operators.
-
The Bass can
be purchased off the shelf in a "fishing" package that includes:
-
Bass kayak
-
"Powerblade" double paddle with alloy shaft
-
Paddle rope
-
Fixed angle rod holder at the rear
-
Angle adjustable rod holder in front of the
cockpit
Bass compared to the Barra by Australis
-
The Bass and Barra kayaks are essentially the
same.
-
The only real difference is that the Bass is more
manoeuvrable than the Barra when a turning response is required.
-
The Bass is more suitable than the Barra for
paddling in small white water.
Bass compared to the Acadia 280 by Perception
The Bass has a full-pan seat rather than an
integrated seat, so the weight of the paddler is more evenly spread over the
entire surface area of the seat (and not concentrated in a few places).
Bass compared to the Minnow by Perception
-
The Bass is more manoeuvrable and easier to turn
than the Minnow.
-
The Bass has a backrest that you can change the
angle of and can therefore be customised to suit the personal preferences of
the kayaker.
