Testimonials for the

Listed below are some testimonials about the Australis Bass by...

Rohan Reynolds of Real Fun

The following testimonial has been supplied by Rohan Reynolds of Real Fun and Rapid Descents Whitewater Rafting.

Rohan, an experienced whitewater paddler with over 25 years experience, lives and works in Canberra.

Rohan has been introducing people to the sport of canoeing and kayaking since 1990 both as a freelance guide and now through his adventure company Real Fun Pty Ltd and hire business Row 'n' Ride.

Due to the continued drought and lack of whitewater, he is now often seen paddling on Lake Burley Griffin with his 3 year old daughter in the back hatch of his Gecko sea kayak.

"I have used the Bass to introduce school students and beginners to whitewater paddling for many years. Though very different to traditional whitewater kayaks, the Bass has many features that make it an ideal boat for introducing raw beginners to the whitewater experience.

The wide body means the Bass is incredibly stable in all conditions. Due to it's width and flat bottom the Bass sits very high in the water allowing it not to get stuck in shallow conditions. With an extra large cockpit the students exit easily in the event of a capsize.

I find the Bass incredibly easy to deep water rescue in a capsize situation and once righted tows easily in all conditions. Students have been able to surf small river waves with ease making their river experience more enjoyable. With the fold down seat you could pack enough gear behind the seat for a short overnight expedition.

I have tried other brands available on the market but always come back to the Bass as the most versatile and suitable boat for introducing students to their first whitewater kayaking experience."
